So much has happened in the first few weeks of this new year, 2012!
Kerri and I went to eat at Koriente (they have vegan and gluten-free items)! It was so great to visit with her and I am so excited for her future endeavors!
Jennifer, a friend I met through my sister, DonNell, turned the big 35! She had a b-day dinner at Buenos Aires Cafe (during this time I was having dinner with my friend Molly at Hula Hut! <3) and then we all had drinks and played pool at The White Horse! The White Horse is an awesome new bar Dennis and Ashley (more friends through DonNell) opened up on the East Side!
I’ve been getting better at playing pool by practicing with my friends Keaton, David, and Clay! I have been winning, really winning games! I’m going to start playing with my dad (he is seriously good), then maybe I can show the boys a thing or two. (; Haha.
I got to hang out with one of my best friends, Marissa, and her sweet little girl, Aja! It was so nice seeing them! <3
I had the best re-celebration of the new year with Jessica and Kelly!
Tuesday’s poetry slam was just perfect. The feature for the night was Sky Candy (they were superb!) and Dan and I ran into my friend, Lincoln, who I haven’t seen since 2010(?)! It was really nice to catch up with him. (:
I purchased my textbooks for this semester through Chegg and saved over $300! I love Chegg (I have been using them for the last 3or4? semesters) and would recommend them to anyone. You rent, that’s right, rent your textbooks for a fraction of the price to purchase them. When it is time to return your books, they provide the shipping costs. And all those previous textbooks you have? They will buy those from you (and you will get way more than what the co-op will buy them back for)! Oh, and they plant trees around the world! Can’t go wrong with Chegg. Also, the new semester starts tomorrow!! Yay!!
The weather has been so glorious!
SoLD has been booming! There are so many great things being shared and so many great people! <3
I have been wanting to get a wireless router since I moved into this apartment (May 2011) and finally got one, for free! By free, I mean I redeemed some of the reward points gained through my Citi credit card. Woo!
I took a bunch of my books to Half Price Books for others to enjoy! This is so bittersweet because I love books (and have a bit of an emotional attachment to the ones I really enjoy reading), but it feels so great to share those books with others and make a little money while doing so! Plus, now I have more room on my bookshelf to fill with new books!
I went to Savers for the first time and they are awesome! I have been needing a new pair of jeans because I have lost over 20 pounds(!) since October and the old ones were literally hanging off me. However, I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a new pair because I am going to continue to lose weight. For these reasons, Savers was the perfect place to go! I found a great pair of dark-wash jeans for only $8!
Kelly Joy and I went to go see Beauty and the Beast 3D and it was so fucking good! I am so glad we got to chill because I miss hanging out with her!
I donated a bunch of old glasses to Lenscrafters for OneSight! What a great feeling!
I have been spending more time with my family and I absolutely love them oh so much! I am so grateful for them and all that they are. <3
I am so grateful for the TV my parents gave me for Christmas! I have been practicing Yoga and Pilates in my living room, as well as watching the hell out of the Travel Channel and crime shows. Haha.
I am going to join DonNell’s book club! Finally! I have been wanting to join one for forever!
I love how easy it is to be vegan! Period. Oh, and all the delicious food.
I’m turning 22 in less than one month! Happy birthday to me!
I love my life!! <3
